Update – One case of Oropouche virus infection is reported in an Italian traveler coming back from Cuba. The 26-year-old female suffered from diarrhea, general malaise, high-grade fever, intense headache, nausea, arthralgias and retro-orbital pain during the flight.

Update – Since the beginning of 2024, Czech Republic have been witnessing an increase in pertussis cases in which, thousands of cases have been reported along with at least 6 fatalities. The bigger proportion of cases is reported in individuals aged between 15 and 19. The most affected region is Central Bohemia, followed by South Bohemia, Moravian-Silesian and the city of Prague.

New – Nearly 350 workers at the Urfa T?GEM Ceylanp?nar Enterprise, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, were poisoned after consuming their lunch. Update – The Sverdlovsl region reported the first death from tick-borne encephalitis in 2024, in which 8,000 victims were registered. The death pertains to a 66-year old unvaccinated resident. 65 municipalities of the Middle Urals have registered cases, but the largest number of cases per 100,000 population is detected in the Baikalovsky, Slobodo-Turinsky, and Pyshminsky districts, Irbitsky municipal formation, Alapaevsky district, and Alapaevsk, Verkhoturye, Achitsky, Shalinsky, and Tugulymsky urban districts. In details, Sixteen people were hospitalized with suspicion of tick-borne viral encephalitis, and 61 people were hospitalized for tick-borne borreliosis. Moreover, over the last week, 759 people have showed-up to medical institutions in Petersburg, complaining about tick-bites, out of which 141 are children under the age of 17. In the area, 111 tick bites were registered out of which 4 got tick-born encephalitis and 11 got infected with borreliosis.
