Course content was developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
The course includes both a theoretical and practical assessment. On successful completion of the course the participants are awarded a certificate that is valid for 4 years. PHTLS® is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE)®.
