Behind the Operations – Recognising Medilink’s HR Coordinators on International Women’s Month

Behind every deployment, every contract, and every staff movement across Medilink International’s global operations, there is a team managing the processes that make it possible.
This International Women’s Day, we recognise three members of our HR Operations function: Gisley de Oliveira, originally from Brazil, Catalina Acosta Moreno and Ana Marcela Hernandez Medina, both originating from Colombia. All three members of this ‘dynamic trio’ are based at Medilink International’s Malta office and hold the title of HR Operations Coordinator. Together, they maintain the HR infrastructure that supports a geographically distributed and operationally complex workforce.
The team’s combined scope of work covers the full HR lifecycle for all staff categories across Medilink International’s sites, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support personnel. This spans onboarding coordination, employment documentation, payroll oversight, compliance management, and the formal processes that accompany staff transitions and contract closures. In 2025 alone, they supported the onboarding of an average of 175 staff members across 13 countries within a single calendar year.
Each coordinator is allocated a defined portfolio of countries across Medilink International’s locations, from Africa to Europe and beyond, managing the full HR lifecycle for their respective sites and staff categories. Operating from the same strategic headquarters, they work in close coordination with one another while maintaining individual accountability for their allocated regions.
“We work as one team regardless of which country we are responsible for. The countries are different, the requirements are different, but the process must be consistent globally. That consistency is what the business depends on.” – Gisley de Oliveira, HR Operations Coordinator
What this structure requires in practice is close coordination across time zones, an accurate working knowledge of local employment law in each country of operation, and the ability to manage multiple onboarding and documentation sequences simultaneously without compromising accuracy or compliance.
Operating across multiple regulatory environments requires a highly structured and adaptable HR Operations function. Each country, staff category, and deployment context brings its own documentation requirements, legislative obligations, and operational timelines. The team ensures that these processes are managed with precision, allowing Medilink International’s clinical and operational staff to be mobilised efficiently and in full compliance with local requirements.

“Our work is closely connected to what happens in the field. When everything is in place from the HR side, it allows teams on the ground to focus on delivering the services our clients depend on.” – Catalina Acosta Moreno, HR Operations Coordinator
How the recruitment process is managed reflects directly on Medilink International’s reputation as an employer and plays a critical role in its ability to attract, deploy, and retain qualified professionals across diverse and competitive global labour markets.
“No two countries are the same and no two contracts are the same. You must understand the context before you can manage the process.” – Ana Marcela Hernandez Medina, HR Operations Coordinator
International Women’s Day is an occasion to make visible the work that sustains an organisation. For Medilink International’s, that includes the HR function that processes, places, and supports hundreds of clinical and operational staff. Gisley de Oliveira, Catalina Acosta Moreno, and Ana Marcela Hernandez Medina are central to that effort. Their recognition today is grounded in that operational record.
